HyCa 1.0: Where It All Began
October 8th, 2024 – VNRVJIET, Hyderabad
HyCa 1.0 transformed the VNRVJIET campus into a colourful mix of fun, learning, and clean-energy excitement. What started as a small idea just a week before the event grew into India’s first hydrogen carnival, complete with interactive stalls like Hang the World, Balloon Trivia, Cornhole, and H₂ Puzzles.
Inspiring HyTalks by Mr. Srinivas Cherla (Director of Sustainability at Research & Innovation Circle of Hyderabad) and Mr. Gopalakrishnan V.C. (Director of EV & Automotive – Govt. of Telangana) added depth and direction to the day. And the key highlight of the carnival was the launch of Bhavad Chakra by the speakers, a powerful symbol representing all nations uniting to push the global hydrogen movement forward, echoing the spirit of #HappeningHydrogen. By the end, HyCa 1.0 proved one powerful truth:
Sustainability can be simple, joyful, and unforgettable.

HyCa 2.0 – The Entropy Edition
Bigger.Braver.Brighter.

Mastermind and Jeopardy added a competitive twist, pushing players to be fast and Knowledgeable. Plinko and Buzzer Wire demanded patience, steady hands, and precision. Cornhole + Trivia kept the energy high by mixing accuracy with hydrogen-based questions.
The Periodic Table Challenge turned chemistry into a race against time. The Hydrogen-Fuel Conversion Balancing Maze was a crowd favourite, letting participants guide a ball through the stages of hydrogen turning into electricity. The Slow Race flipped the idea of racing, rewarding control over speed, echoing HyCa’s core message: sustainability is slow, steady, and intentional. Art That Added Soul to Sustainability The art stalls were a colourful escape, showcasing creativity rooted in eco-friendly ideas. From posters to handmade crafts, students poured in to appreciate designs that blended imagination with environmental Consciousness.
HyTalks: Conversations That Sparked Curiosity
HyTalks in HyCa 2.0 became a true highlight, a space where ideas, inspiration, and real-world impact came together. Mr. Vasudevan Gnana Gandhi, Former ISRO rocket scientist and propulsion expert, delivered a powerful and engaging session on Hydrogen’s potential as a green energy source. He didn’t just speak – he connected personally with students by engaging with them in the most fun way and also by visiting the stalls and even attempting the Periodic Table Challenge, which thrilled the audience.
Nishitha Tirunagari, Miss Queen of the World India 2023 – 2nd Runner-Up and founder of Project Spoorthi, inspired students with her talk on sustainability and equality. She later joined the VR game “VRoom VRoom”, perfectly blending tech, fun, and climate awareness.
