We at The Ecopreneur India team wish You and your Family a Happy New Year 2023!
The year 2023 is declared as an International Year of Millets (IYM 2023) by the United Nations General Assembly. The UN theme of IYM 2023 is ‘Unleashing the potential of millets for the well-being of people and the environment’.
India has taken the lead hosting a ‘millet lunch’ at the UN. Millet— an essential staple cereal crop for millions of smallholder dryland farmers across Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. Millets offer nutrition, resilience, income and livelihood for farmers, and have multiple uses such as food, feed, fodder, biofuels and brewing.
This year, India will celebrate 17th Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas which will be held in Indore on the theme “Diaspora: Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal.” To honour them, every year 9th January is celebrated as Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas/ Non Resident Indian (NRI) Day here in India. A Non Resident Indians (NRI) role in building a nation is indisputable, especially in the area of ecopreneurship. At The Ecopreneur India, we benefit from the experience and wisdom of NRIs who bring a new global perspective and resources to the work that we do every day.
Swami Vivekananda’s birthday is celebrated on 12th January. In India, this day is observed as National Youth Day. As we celebrate National Youth Day, it is significant to understand the number of issues our youth face today and take constructive steps to create solutions for those challenges.
At The Ecopreneur India, we take our ecopreneurship inspiration in 2023 from the humble millet grain that offers nutrition, resilience, income and livelihood for farmers, and has multiple uses that benefit our communities.
On that note, We wish You a Happy and Prosperous 2023!
Happy New Year!
